The Adams Rite 8600 Exit Device is designed for narrow stile aluminum applications that require a life safety exit device with concealed vertical rods for two-point locking. Designed for use in applications with single doors or pairs of doors. The patented top latching mechanism utilizes a rotating top bolt which deadlatches around the header strike, interlocking the door to the frame. Supplied with standard header strike. Adjustable protected steel rods. The hexagonal, hardened steel bottom bolt is shielded in a cast housing for strength and stability. This device suits standard 1-3/4" thick doors and requires modification when used with cylinder in doors over 1-3/4". The supplied rods are suitable for a maximum door height of 66" above the installed bar height. Requires a minimum 2" [50.8 mm] stile width. The bar can be field cut to the next smallest door opening width.This exit device can be used with the Adams Rite 4036 mortise cylinder (not supplied) for outside activation by key. The 8600 series exit device can also be used with the Adams Rite 3080 and 3090 series entry trims to provide outside activation for the door with a lever (order separately).
